A person whom I find strikingly similar to Macbeth in his changing motives and progression throughout life is Hitler. Hitler is widely regarded as a villain, and rightfully so. However, his personality and intentions in his early life was different. Like Macbeth, he started off as somewhat of a hero. He was a decorated soldier who fought in the Great War. After the Great Depression, Hitler sought to restore the glory of Germany. He was quickly moved up in ranks until he became an ultimate leader. This was when he took a turn for the worse. He quickly became deluded and power hungry. Similar to Macbeth, his actions were propelled by a vision in his head of how his life and everything around him was “supposed to be”. Step by step he began to construct the perfect kingdom, and with it, his own demise.
